Growers in Huizhou were cultivating Dendrobium officinale, a highly sensitive medicinal orchid that requires stable humidity, soft diffused light, and well-controlled temperature conditions. The previous structures failed to meet these requirements: direct sunlight caused leaf scorching, humidity fluctuated sharply during seasonal weather shifts, and poor ventilation encouraged fungal diseases. These issues made it difficult to maintain uniform quality and slowed overall plant development.

FANGCHENG designed a specialized greenhouse tailored to the cultivation needs of Tiepi Shihu. The structure incorporated shading systems to create gentle, diffused light conditions suitable for orchid growth. A combination of ridge and side ventilation helped maintain steady airflow while preventing excessive moisture accumulation. High-quality film materials improved environmental stability, and upgraded drainage systems reduced disease pressure during wet periods. Structural reinforcement ensured the greenhouse could withstand Huizhou’s variable climate.
After completion, the greenhouse provided a controlled environment where temperature, humidity, and light levels remained stable throughout the year. The Tiepi Shihu plants grew more uniformly, with healthier stems and reduced fungal issues. Growers experienced higher survival rates, improved medicinal quality, and more predictable production cycles—significantly enhancing the commercial value of the plantation.
