A grower in Nansha, Guangzhou required a greenhouse that could withstand coastal weather conditions while providing stable light transmission for year-round production. The region experiences strong sunlight, high humidity, and occasional typhoons, making durability and insulation key priorities. Traditional film structures offered insufficient protection, so the client needed a stronger and more reliable greenhouse solution.
FANGCHENG designed and installed a polycarbonate (PC) panel greenhouse—often referred to as a “sunlight greenhouse”—to meet these needs. The PC panels offer excellent impact resistance and improved insulation, helping maintain more stable temperatures during both hot days and cooler nights. Their diffused-light properties ensure uniform light distribution inside the greenhouse, reducing plant stress caused by direct glare. The steel frame was reinforced to handle coastal winds common in Nansha, ensuring long-term structural stability.

The interior of the greenhouse was planned to support a variety of planting methods, allowing the client to use both bench systems and ground cultivation. Ventilation windows were integrated into the roof and sidewalls to maintain steady airflow, balancing the insulation benefits of PC panels with proper humidity control.

After the greenhouse was put into use, the client observed more consistent crop performance and fewer issues caused by extreme weather. The improved thermal stability allowed for a longer growing season, while the strong structure offered peace of mind during storms. The PC greenhouse provided a durable, efficient solution well suited to the environmental conditions of Nansha.
