Growers in Heshan, Jiangmen were using outdated shelters that provided limited protection against the region’s strong sunlight and frequent rainfall. The old structures had poor ventilation, causing heat build-up during hot days, while inadequate moisture control during the rainy season often led to fungal issues and slowed crop growth. These unstable conditions resulted in inconsistent harvest quality and lower production efficiency throughout the year.
FANGCHENG designed a reinforced single-span greenhouse tailored to the local climate. The new structure featured upgraded steel framing for durability, improved roof height to enhance natural airflow, and side ventilation windows to regulate temperature more effectively. High-transparency film increased light availability, while a strengthened drainage system helped control humidity during wet periods. Insect-proof screening was added to create a cleaner, safer growing environment.
After installation, the greenhouse maintained a more stable microclimate. Heat accumulation decreased, humidity became easier to manage, and crops grew more uniformly across the planting area. Growers reported fewer disease problems, improved harvest consistency, and higher overall productivity with the new structure.
