Growers in Lianping, Heyuan were operating older greenhouses that struggled to support modern, intensive cultivation. The existing structures had limited height and weak ventilation, making it difficult to maintain stable temperature and humidity levels. During cold seasons, heat loss was significant, slowing crop growth, while in warm months, poor airflow caused heat buildup and increased the risk of pests and fungal diseases. These issues resulted in fluctuating yields and inconsistent crop quality.

FANGCHENG carried out a full on-site evaluation and designed a customized multi-span greenhouse suited to the region’s mountainous climate. The new structure featured reinforced steel frames for improved durability, increased roof height to enhance natural convection, and a combination of ridge and side ventilation systems to maintain steady airflow. High-transparency film improved overall light availability, while optional shading and insulation layers helped regulate seasonal temperature changes. Anti-insect screens and optimized drainage channels were integrated to reduce pest pressure and prevent water accumulation during heavy rains.

After completion, the greenhouse provided a much more controlled environment for year-round cultivation. Temperature and humidity remained within ideal ranges, crop growth became more uniform, and pest-related losses decreased significantly. Growers reported higher productivity, improved harvest quality, and greater confidence in their ability to supply the market consistently. The project marked a major improvement over their previous growing conditions and supported long-term expansion plans.
